Learning Content Network - FAQs
How do I view Content?
The Learning Content Network uses the Brainshark platform to display its programs through the Viewer console. To view a tutorial on how to use the Viewer, see How to View a Presentation.
The Viewer may contain any or all of the following sections (depending on the author's preferences and whether you are using the Standard Viewer or the Macromedia Flash Viewer. Click here to learn more about the Standard and Macromedia Flash Viewers):

How can I email the author a question?
Click the Tools & Help icon:
to reveal the menu of tools and help shown below. Click on Email a Question.

Are authors available to customize their content for my company?
Most, if not all of the Learning Content Network contributing authors are indeed available for custom work. As subject matter experts in their field, they are the best at presenting relevant topics to your organization. Use the E-MAIL A QUESTION link to get in touch with them.
Can I let my colleagues watch it too?
Anyone can view content that has been published for free. If the content requires the purchase of a viewing license, then only you are authorized to view that content. If you know someone that is also interested, they need to purchase their own license. The authors should be compensated for all of the time and effort spent to create these programs and their expertise.
How can I print these slides?
If the author has allowed this setting on their content, you may print the slides for your own use. The Print Slides tool enables you to print all of the slides associated with this presentation. In order to print the slide notes, select the Show Notes tool prior to selecting Print Slides.
I want to buy this content. What exactly am I buying?
You, alone, are buying the right to view the content whenever you log into the Learning Content Network. Your content will remain within you're My Content tab, accessible any time, any day.
How long do I get to watch this content? Does it expire?
Your license is valid for the period of 1 year, at which point, access to the content will expire.
I am also a Brainshark corporate customer, do I get extra privileges?
As a Brainshark corporate customer with access to the Brainshark presentation application, you can also purchase a copy of the presentation where applicable. Allowing the purchase of a copy is at the discretion of the author. The site will display the Copy price if it is available. We encourage you to contact the author, if it isn't shown as an available option - as some are willing to make a copy available on a case by case basis. When you purchase a copy, Brainshark will place a copy of the content into your Brainshark Archive (Sharkive) within 3 business days of purchase.
I would like to buy a copy of the presentation, but there is no price for it.
If there is no price for a copy, then the author may not wish to sell copies at this time. We encourage you to contact the author, if it isn't shown as an available option - as some are willing to make a copy available on a case by case basis.
I see two prices on some content. What does that mean?
Everyone may buy a VIEW-only License. This allows you to view the content on the site at any time. Brainshark corporate customers may also purchase a copy of the content (where applicable) for their own internal use. If your company is interested in Brainshark corporate license go to www.brainshark.com.

I can't hear anything. Do I need to adjust my computer?
Besides checking to see if your speakers are plugged in, check your computer's volume control to see if it's on mute or at a low level. There is also a volume control on the content player. Click the volume control button to reveal the volume control slider. Click and drag the slider control to the left to decrease the volume, to the right to increase the volume.
How do I make the player bigger?
The Viewer supports two modes: Default mode (pictured above) and Full Screen mode. Full Screen mode has a larger slide image and fewer controls and supplemental information. Full screen mode is not available with certain configurations of the viewer (e.g., the minimal style sheet).
When in Default mode, click on the Maximize button
to maximize the slide viewing area. Click the same button to return to the default slide viewer mode.
How do I skip a slide or go back?
You can use the controls on the player to do tasks similar to a CD/DVD player. You can also review the Table of Contents to get to your topic of interest.
Here are the definitions of how the player works.
 |
Displays the previous slide |
 |
Plays the currently selected slide from its beginning and toggles between Play and Pause controls. |
 |
Pauses the presentation (toggles between Play and Pause controls). While paused, you can use Previous, Next, Restart, and the Table of Contents to navigate through a presentation without playing the audio for each slide. To resume audio playback, click Play. |
 |
Displays the next slide |
 |
The progress bar displays the progress of the current slide, slide number, position within the slide audio and overall audio duration.. Drag the pointer left or click to the left of this control to replay the slide's audio from an earlier point. Drag the pointer to the right or click to the right of the pointer to move to a later part of the audio. |
Table of Contents
The Table of Contents lists each slide or group by number, name, and duration of the audio. If the author has created logical groups of slides, the Table of Contents shows each slide group and the individual slides associated with it.
To navigate through a presentation from the table of contents, select the slide or slide group you want to view. If the presentation is paused, you will not hear the audio track.
Can I download more content?
The tab controls allow you to switch between the table of contents view and the attachments view. All attachments are located under the “Attachments” tab. However, attachments can also be referenced on specific slides within a Presentation. If a slide has an attachment reference, a link will appear in the viewing window beneath the Table of Contents (See examples below). Clicking on the link will launch the attachment. When an attachment is referenced on a slide, clicking on the slide will also launch the attachment.
